SFA Foundation is a family foundation registered in January 2023 under the laws of Kenya. It is an offshoot of Sustainable Futures Limited, a family social enterprise registered in 2016.

The family holds the belief that it is fundamentally important, obligatory, responsible and prudent for their family to look outwards and share their blessings with the world in a structured manner. By so doing, the family is being intentional about generation passage of values such as sustainable living, care for people and nature and peaceful living.

Our History

Our Mission

Our Vision

To contribute to a shalom world by supporting people, programs and activities geared towards peaceful existence, environmental sustainability and generational sustainability.

We envision a Shalom world- a world in which God, people and planet web into a state of completeness, fulfillment and delight.

Our Belief

The Founders come from a faith tradition that believe that giving is a spiritual discipline. It expresses the love and grace freely given by God. To us, giving is a response to God’s invitation to be faithful stewards of the generous gifts He has given. We believe that by giving we are joining God in His ministry of divine restoration.

Our Symbol

We are inspired by the Oak tree(known as 'Muuru' in Kimeru), a huge sacred tree, which symbolizes strength, stability, wisdom, endurance and longevity. It also symbolizes the cycles of life and its regenerative nature. It therefore captures our vision for living by the values that we intentionally pass on to generations.

Our Thematic Areas

We mobilize funds & resources which we use to provide fellowships, scholarships and sponsorships, awards and recognition and other support that help individuals and groups in their pursuit of:

Environmental

Sustainability

Peaceful Existence

Generational

Sustainability

The Foundation is inspired by the teachings of the founder of Methodism, John Wesley, who wisely implored his followers to “make all you can, save all you can and give all you can”. Having been brought up under this Faith Tradition and internalized its value from an early age, the Foundation is intended to pass it on through generations. John Wesley believed, and so do the Founders, that giving is a spiritual discipline that expresses the love and grace freely given by God.
