OUR BOARD
"I was born and bred in a village in Meru in Kenya. My childhood was tainted with joyful family, church, school and community activities. I got married into a family and community that was equally filled with love, sharing, belonging and immense generosity and hospitality. There was always enough and to give. I trace these values to my family and African traditions, reinforced by Christian teachings and practices. Founding SFA is therefore a natural inclination for me. It is all about putting structure into my rich family and societal heritage . I have ran a peace non- governmental organization since 2001. Raising funds to do the important work it does has been exhausting. I am compelled to look for ways to make the work sustainable through generations. A family foundation is the perfect vehicle for me to achieve this dream. I am excited and grateful for the opportunity".
And in summary, I am a lover of God, people and nature. I enjoy hearty conversations, reading, traveling and being in nature.

I have been connected to people, to God and to nature for as long as l can remember. My childhood memories are filled with soulful experiences with my grandfather, father, uncles and clansmen, not to mention the women, especially my mothers, sisters and cousins who surrounded my life and deeply enriched it with their tender loving care. Mount Kenya's rich flora and fauna encompassed me as we trekked through its savannah grasslands in search of honey and medicinal herbs. Becoming a veterinarian, then an enviro- vet and later an environment teacher and practitioner were all natural choices. My career has now culminated in my becoming a philanthropist, to share with the world what l and my family have in pursuit of my lifelong passion for a shalom world.
I love experiencing God's amazing world in its multidimensional diversities, and soaking myself in nature.

I am a student and an aspiring corporate leader and philanthropist. I choose to see the good in everyone and everything and believe in supporting people to be the best version of themselves. My name means ‘peace’ and that inclines me to be a lover of harmonious living. I’m therefore grateful for the opportunity to be a part of SFA Foundation. Through it, l will spread peace and sustainability all over Africa.
I am an avid footballer and a Manchester United fan. I derive my energy from personal time, yet love deep relationships. I am fondly known for asking ‘the tough’ questions, which are seemingly philosophical, but meant to provoke deep and meaningful conversations.

My name is Mutugi Mbaabu. I am a restaurateur and beekeeper. I’ve had the privilege of growing in a community where giving is a norm. From visiting children’s homes to volunteering in medical camps. These experiences have inspired me to be part of SFA Foundation which will enable even more giving and positive impact in the lives of many. I share a lot of time with my parents and it is very interesting to hear their generation’s perspectives on various topics, which are very different from my generation’s perspectives. This has exposed me to the need for Generational Sustainability, one of SFAs focus points, through dialogues between these generations so as to share an understanding and therefore live more wholly and peacefully. I am forever grateful for this chance to make a difference!
I am a lover of God and His Universe. A bookworm and bassist. Enthusiast of spirituality, life-long learning and growth of deep relationships.
